Govt without opposition equals ‘absolute power’

The convenience of having the so called ‘opposition-less govt’ in Nagaland cannot be missed.

Important money bills (which authorizes the govt to draw/spend money) involving crores of public money were moved in the Assembly for consideration by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and passed unanimously on 26th November 2021.

All this was done without any proper debate and vote as is required in a parliamentary democracy. The Assembly, held for a few hours on Nov 25-26, is probably the shortest sitting ever for Nagaland.

Zero checks and balances explain the sorry state of affairs in Nagaland. With no Opposition in the Assembly, the present government in Nagaland has ‘absolute power’. This situation will further lead to ‘absolute corruption’.

A new dangerous path of money power is unfolding in Nagaland. The virus of corruption has spread to all parts of our body-politic. Money power has effectively destroyed people’s power and their voice to be heard.

But the good news is that the power of truth shall prevail at the end. Our people cannot be fooled any longer.

Time to come together, rise and rebuild Nagaland.

Join the movement.
