of The Naga Rising

Deuteronomy 31:6… ‘Be strong and resolute’…

The Naga Rising  is of the firm belief that God has promised much for the Naga nation, its people. We have been blessed with our land, resources, distinct identity based on our culture, history and political rights.

But have we been responsible stewards of what God has given to us…the opportunities that God has placed in front of us?

We are all familiar with the story…the people of the nation of Israel wandered around in the wilderness for forty years making what was actually an eleven-day journey to reach the promised-land.

Why the delay? We are told because they had this ‘wilderness mentality’…the wrong mindset…as a result they could not move on or make progress…

Nagas are in a similar situation today… we are still not in the land of promise that we wanted…we are unable to make that breakthrough…to let go of that wrong mindset…to reach our God given potential

Our aspiration as a people, dating back to the memorandum submitted to the Simon Commission in 1929, is in a state of devastation, confusion and depression, brought about by our collective failures as a people, especially in the last 70 years.

As a result of this chronic state of affairs, made worse by corruption and the abuse of power ….we have dwelt long enough on the same mountain. It is time to move on…. (Extract from Deuteronomy 1:6)

The time has come for a new beginning, to reignite the flame that once burned bright—a national awakening, love for our land and the cause that we held dear to us.

It is vital for our future that we start the work of reconstruction, to chart out a new course, take some radical steps, to rebuild a new Nagaland.

We believe something is about to happen… that we as a people will cross over into the place of our promise. In hope and faith let us unite. Come join us to lead the way.

We need our people… our leaders… to ‘trust and obey God’… to be reminded of the parting words of Moses to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 31:6… ‘Be strong and resolute’… in Kingdom principles… to hold our Naga land to God’s standard of moral accountability…

Above all we acknowledge the sovereignty of God over our people, land and resources and that The Naga Rising  will guard, guide and govern …to defend what belongs to us—our culture, history and rights; to re-strengthen our collective resolve as a people and work for a better world; to rebuild what has been broken and lead selflessly with integrity.

We are bound by this covenant that— The Naga Rising  commits to be stewards for our people.

These we state to be our moral foundation as we pursue the Naga people’s rightful place under the Sun.
